  1. Car rental companies are available at the PGIA Airport and range from $35.00โ€“$75.00 USD. Keep in mind that gas prices in Belize range from $6.00โ€“$7.00 per gallon (~3.8L).
  2. From PGIA Airport, you can now take a new Airport road down south instead of passing through Belize City (Shown on map link).
  3. Then you can either take the Hummingbird Highway (Scenic) or the Coastal Highway (Fast).
  4. After entering the Southern Highway you go east towards the coast after arriving at Santa Cruz village. From there, drive down the Peninsula starting at Riversdale until arriving at Placencia.

  1. There are flights from PGIA Airport (BZE) to Dangriga (PLJ) available via two domestic airlines: Maya Island Air & Tropic Air.
  2. There are also flight available from the Municipal Airport in Belize City (TZA) but the price is negligible after factoring in the transport from PGIA Airport in Ladyville to Belize City.
  3. Some travelers opt to take the ferry one-way and then fly on the way back which gives the full experience while also staying on budget.
