The best time to visit Belize depends on the weather, your budget and travel plans.
Dry Season
Belize has two seasons only: dry and rainy season. Dry season lasts between December 1st and May 31st. You can expect sunny skies and high humidity so bring your sunblock and be prepared for sticky clothes on your skin.
Rainy Season
Also known as the hurricane season, the rainy season is between June 1st and November 30th. Rain frequency increases during this period, especially in the south.
What This Means
The good news is that it rarely rains all day and night. The showers are mostly overnight with brief downpours during the day.
The bad news is that during rainy/hurricane season there is a risk of actual hurricanes that start off as waves or depressions and have the potential to grow into a tropical storm or hurricane. If this happens, we can get long periods of rain over a few days.
September and October have historically had the greatest probability of hurricanes.
